Our beliefs are only as strong as the relationships upon which they are founded. Animated by ideas from attachment theory and shared reality theory, my research so far has looked at how threats to the personal religious experience are defended as a function of the qualities of the early childhood attachment relationships.

My other research interests include:Terror management theory, atheist stereotyping, magical & superstitious thinking, and how people unconsciously connect the scientific enterprise with atheism.
